Music & Me
Music & Me
Hi, I'm Amanda Lee, I'm currently a chemistry major. The main things I am into are drawing, music, and fashion. I moved here from Atlanta, but I was born in New Jersey. When I was young, I lived in Jersey, the Bronx, and Maine before we moved to Atlanta. I also played guitar and violin for a few years, but now it is an off-and-on thing. After I finish my schooling here id either like to have my own clothing business started or go into the field of working on crime scenes or in a lab.
1. There is a lot of music that I love that is my go-to I am into many types of music, such as rock, punk rock, alternative, and emo rap. In my opinion, if someone deeply enjoys music no one has a "go-to" type of music they listen to, normally, or at least I don't, I listen to music based on my mood. If I had to choose a song I would consider my "go-to" if I am in a good mood would be "Dead Skin Mask" by Slayer
2. A song that resonates with me a lot is "Valentine" by xxxtentacion, he has been one of my favorite artists since 2016, but specifically this song resonates with me the most because as I have gotten older my anxiety has gotten worse over the years, and this song is proven to reduce anxiety and calm your senses when experiencing anxiety. which is a plus, but overall it's just such a good song.
3. I am really open to all types of music but a specific type of music I just don't understand people enjoy or even resonate with is country music, as I listen to this type of music it physically makes me angry. Everything about this genre of music is distasteful to me, but I don't judge if that's what you like though. Personally, I don't know how people listen to it. Pertaining a specific song that is more in the genre of music I listen to that I can't stand would be "Come As You Are" by Nirvana I love Nirvana deeply and the song is good, but what bugs me about this specific song is that it is so overplayed which makes me hate it so much, there are so many other and better Nirvana songs to choose from & for some reason when you ask someone about Nirvana this is the only song they know.
4. I would like to share this song by black label society called 13 years of grief. I would like to share this song because Black Label Society is one of my favorite rock bands, I have been listening to them since I was 16. When I first found out about this song it was on repeat, it was my favorite song for so long and many years later it is still one of my favorites.

I really liked how you said if someone really likes music they don't really have a "go to" type; I think that is very true. I enjoyed listening to the song you added by xxxtentacion. Also, I lived right outside of Atlanta for my whole life up until last year!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely agree with your comments on Nirvana. I am a big Nirvana fan myself but their stuff is so overplayed that is becomes hard to listen to. I think music has to be played tastefully to keep its impact.
